That probably tells you more about me than some polished title ever could.
I didn’t wake up one day knowing how to do all of this. I’ve been surrounded by art, technology, gadgets, robots, sci-fi models, electronics, tools, and things with blinking lights for basically my entire life. My father started teaching me how to build, repair, create, and understand how things worked when I was around ten years old.
That became the foundation for everything.
I just never stopped learning.
Painting led to design. Design led to digital art. Then 3D. Fabrication. Animation. Electronics. Robotics. Special effects. Augmented reality. Software development. AI.
At this point, I’ve basically been collecting skills like Infinity Stones.
The funny part is, I actually use them.
For most of my life, I didn’t really understand why my brain worked the way it did. I just knew it worked differently.
I’d get obsessed with something, learn everything I could about it, figure out how it worked, then somehow connect it to five other things I already knew.
For years, I thought that was a flaw.
Turns out, there’s a name for it.
I’m a polymath.
To me, being a polymath doesn’t just mean knowing a lot of stuff. It means my brain is constantly building bridges between things most people keep separate.
Art connects to engineering. Engineering connects to storytelling. Storytelling connects to technology. Technology loops right back into art.
I don’t really see disciplines.
I see possibilities.
Sometimes that’s a gift.
Sometimes it’s exhausting.
I’ve always known I was different. Not in some dramatic “chosen one” kind of way. More like I’ve spent a lot of my life feeling like my brain was running on a different operating system than everyone around me.
I isolate myself. I’m stupidly critical of my own work. I’ve dealt with depression, self-doubt, and stretches where I didn’t see much value in the things I could do because they came naturally to me.
If you can do ten things well, somehow your brain will still obsess over the eleventh thing you haven’t figured out yet.
Mine definitely does.
And apparently being an Aries wasn’t chaotic enough, so the universe decided to throw polymath into the mix too.
Very relaxing.
I’m usually quiet. I keep to myself.
But mention art, technology, augmented reality, robots, sci-fi, fabrication, 3D, AI, or anything involving taking an impossible idea and making it real?
Yeah.
You’re probably going to be there a while.
Because that part of my brain never shuts off.
I’m constantly asking:
“What else can this become?”
That question is responsible for a lot of what you’ll see here.
A painting might turn into an augmented reality experience. A sculpture might have electronics inside of it. A 3D model might become a physical object, then an animation, then part of an interactive world.
Sometimes I start with a sketch and somehow end up writing code at 2AM wondering how the hell I got there.
That happens a lot.
If the tool exists, I’ll learn it.
If it doesn’t, there’s a very good chance I’ll disappear for a while and try to build the damn thing myself.
That mindset eventually led me into developing my own technology, including Quakey XR. Not because I wanted to stop being an artist and become a developer, but because I got tired of waiting for the tools I wanted to exist.
So I started building them.
But none of that is the most important part of who I am.
I’m a husband and a father first.
Everything else comes after that.
For years, I had all these skills, ideas, experiments, old artwork, unfinished projects, technical knowledge, and crazy concepts floating around like separate pieces.
Now I realize they were never separate.
They were all leading here.
Apollo XR is me finally bringing every part of myself into the same room.
The artist. The developer. The builder. The inventor. The guy driving a school bus in the morning while mentally designing something ridiculous he’ll probably start building later that night.
Same guy.
And I know what I have now.
I know I’ve spent decades building a strange collection of skills, knowledge, ideas, and abilities that most people would never think to combine.
For a long time, I underestimated that.
I don’t anymore.
Now I’m finally using all of it.
Not just to make cool shit.
To build something bigger than myself.
To change my family’s life.
That’s the real reason behind everything I’m doing.
So this site isn’t just a gallery or a marketplace.
It’s my world.
Some of my old work is here. Some of my new work. Some things I’m still experimenting with. Some things you’ll understand immediately.
And some things I’m not explaining yet.
You don’t get all the secrets on the first visit.
I’ve spent my entire life gathering the pieces.
Now I’m finally putting them together.
Welcome to Apollo XR.
